The Building Department is charged with the review, inspection and approval of all new construction projects and other renovations, alterations and improvements to buildings located in the Village of Frankfort. Over 650 local businesses are licensed by the department, who coordinates regular public safety inspections with the Frankfort Fire Protection District. Every contractor who legally works in the Village also holds a  contractor's license issued by the department. Our goal is to ensure that all buildings, new and old, provide at least the minimum level of safety prescribed by the building codes.
