Building Permit Fees

Permit fees are assigned based on the type of project you plan to complete. The fee schedule is developed to offset costs the Village incurs to provide plan review, inspection and administrative services for the project.

New Construction

All new construction permits are reviewed by an independent third party. Costs incurred by the Village for review services are the responsibility of the permit applicant. (Ord. 2595, passed 6/15/09)

Residential: $0.40/sq. ft.

Commercial: $.50/sq. ft.

Industrial: $.50/sq. ft.

Remodeling

Remodeling permits vary in scope and complexity and therefore permit fees are assigned based upon the project's construction cost. Typically, commercial, industrial and large residential remodeling projects are reviewed by an independent third party. Costs incurred by the Village for review services are the responsibility of the permit applicant. (Ord. 2595, passed 6/15/09)

Reinspections

The Village requires several inspections to verify a base-level of standard is adhered to for all structures within the Village. Occasionally inspections are requested for incomplete or incorrect work. A 'reinspect' fee is collected for all necessary visits following the first for all inspection types.
