Frankfort Police Events





The Frankfort Police Department sponsors special Community Crime Prevention Events, including:

NEW EVENT!  Spooky Squad Tour - Saturday, October 31, 2020

The Frankfort Police Department will be sending out our spooky squads to distribute candy in your subdivision!  We have a list of the general times in which our squads will be in Frankfort Subdivisions.  Children who wish to participate can stand on their front lawns to receive a socially distanced Halloween treat from the Frankfort Police.  For a list of the locations and times for our spooky squad tour, click here.  Remember, only the decorated squads are part of the event.
 

National Night Out Against Crime

An annual crime prevention event that heightens crime and drug prevention awareness; strengthens neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; and sends a message to criminals that our neighborhoods are organized and fighting back against crime. This national program is scheduled for the 1st Tuesday in August and additional information will be posted on the Village Calendar of Events.


Coffee with a Cop

Join members of the Frankfort Police Department for an informal "coffee". This is an opportunity to chat with members of the Police Department about issues on your mind.  Events are held several times a year at different locations.  Watch the website for announcement of location and time.  No reservation is required. The next Coffee with a Cop is scheduled for Friday, February 21, Jewel-Osco, 21164 S. LaGrange RoadFrankfort from 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM. 

Citizens Police Academy

Would you like to know more about how your local police agencies operate?  Join us for our 2020 Citizen's Police Academy.  Some topics covered in this hands-on academy include:  active shooter response training, traffic stops, a k-9 demonstration, a tour of Will County Jail and much more!  This free program meets for 12 consecutive Thursday nights starting March 5th through May 21st.  The Citizen's Police Academy will be held at the Will County Sheriff's Building, 16911 W. Laraway Rd., Joliet, IL from 7-9:30 p.m.  All attendees must be 18 years old, be able to pass a background check, and fill out an application.  Applications can be picked up at the Frankfort Police Department or you can download application here.  For questions regarding this program, call Sgt. Cell Phones for Shelters Drop Off

The Frankfort Police Department is accepting any old cell phones. Accessories are not needed. You may drop them off at the front office located at 20602 Lincoln-Way Lane between the hours of 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. The proceeds are donated to domestic violence shelters.
 

TRIAD Meetings

TRIAD meeting - fourth Wednesday of every month at the Frankfort Police Department.  Meetings begin at 10:00 AM.  All Seniors welcome! 
 

Safety Seat Inspections

The Frankfort Police Department will do car seat inspections for FREE!  Make sure your child's safety seat is installed properly.  Please call for an appointment at (815) 469-9435.

"Seniors on Patrol" Program

Join the "Seniors on Patrol" program sponsored by the Frankfort Police Department. Call (815) 469-9435 for further details.  

Requirements to participate:

*Pass a criminal background check
*Attend a 5 week training program
*Be available for patrols 2 to 3 times per month during April to November.
