RecyclingCurbside RecyclingThe Village participates in a curbside recycling program. A fee of $3.94 appears on each residential monthly water bill to cover operation expenses by NuWay Disposal.
Recycling bins may be obtained by calling NuWay Disposal. NuWay will drop them off at your residence. Residents are allowed one bin per household at no cost. Additional bins may be purchased. Larger recycling containers are available for lease from NuWay Disposal. Recyclable materials include newspapers placed in brown bags or tied with string; glass; tin and aluminum cans; and #1, #2, #3,#4,#5 and #7 plastics (no #6). NuWay has a new recycling center that takes 1-7 plastics (excluding #6). See NuWay website for a complete list. Each week NuWay Disposal sends a separate truck to pick up recyclables in Village-issued recycling bins. The bins must be placed at the curb by 6:30 a.m. on Monday mornings for pick-up to occur. Garbage, yard waste, and recycling pick-ups (three pick-ups in all) are staggered throughout the day. |
